BT Benson Ltd – Terms and Conditions of Business

 

This document sets out the Terms of Contract established between us (B T Benson Ltd) and you (the registered animal owner or individual requesting our services) which comes into being when you ask us to provide professional farriery services. Accepting these conditions confirms that you are over 18 years or age.

 

OUR SERVICE

  • Appointments can be made by telephone between the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
  • We always try to keep to the allocated appointment slot however from time to time appointment slots may need to be adjusted. We will always advise clients of this as soon as possible.
  • Cancellation or failure to attend arranged appointments are subject to a cancellation charge unless agreed in advance.
  • Work on horse’s feet may be done by any member of the BT Benson Farriery team who is authorised to do so by Ben Benson.

 

PAYMENT TERMS

  • Invoices are due on receipt or on previously agreed terms.
  • Payment for invoices are to be made by BACS using the bank details provided on our invoice. Please quote your invoice number and name on any payments made. If you wish to pay by card please send an email to accounts@btbensonfarrier.com to request a payment link.
  • All fees for professional advice, services and goods are subject to VAT at the applicable rate.
  • In the event of an overdue invoice further visits maybe postponed until the invoice has been cleared. Outstanding invoices may also be subject to 10% administration charge.
  • You will receive a detailed breakdown of our services on every invoice.
  • Price increases will be notified in advance where possible.
  • Should you become unable to pay your invoice according to our payment terms or you feel there may be an issue with your invoice please contact us as soon as possible either by sending an email to accounts@btbensonfarrier.com or by contacting Ben Benson directly to resolve any issue.

 

ESTIMATES

 

  • Estimates are available verbally at the time of booking the appointment or during the appointment. Written estimates are also available on request prior to any appointment if enough notice is given for this to be possible.
  • Any estimate given can only be approximate as your horses needs may not be conventional and unforeseen expenses may occur.

 

LOST SHOES

  • If a shoe is lost the client will be required to pay for it to be replaced or, in the event that the shoe is found and suitable the client will be required to pay for it to be refitted. 
  • Lost shoe call outs will not normally include a visit charge however this may apply if travel is out of our normal area.
  • Every effort will be made to accommodate emergency call outs. Any emergency appointment may incur a call out fee.

 

REMEDIAL FARRIERY

  • Remedial or Performance Farriery will be changed at an agreed hourly rate and includes a conventional set of shoes.
  • Additional specialist shoes and products will be changed in addition to the hourly rate.
  • A treatment plan will be discussed with you after your first appointment. This can be confirmed in writing, along with our initial findings and work carried out at an additional cost.

 

COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

  • In the event that a client wishes to raise a complaint. Please raise this directly with Ben Benson either by email to office@btbensonfarrier.com or verbally and he will strive to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

 

SAFETY 

  • Horses are to be handled by the owner, appointed groom or appropriate adult. BT Benson Ltd accepts no liability or responsibility for catching or moving horses to and from the shoeing area. 
  • Should the horse be fractious or impatient the owner or appointed other would be required to hold the horse whilst work is carried out. 
  • Safety is a priority for BT Benson and Team. In the event we feel it is unsafe to continue to shoe a horse we reserve the right to stop working on a horse until it is safe to do so.

 

OTHER

  • By using the services provided by BT Benson LTD you are accepting that we can use photos or X-rays for educational and social media use and that these images then become the property of B T Benson Ltd. These will be used respectfully to the client and horse.
